Energy for growth round table

Attended the Energy for Growth Roundtable, where I reaffirmed our commitment to clean, affordable and sustainable energy.

With 93% of our electricity already drawn from renewables; geothermal, hydro, wind, and solar, Kenya stands as a continental leader in the energy transition.

I underscored our strategies such as the Last Mile Connectivity Programme, mini-grids and off-grid solar solutions, all aimed at achieving universal access to electricity by 2030.

Additionally, I highlighted the importance of initiatives like the Energy for Growth in Africa (E4G) programme, supported by UNDP, the Italian Government and G7 partners, in scaling renewable generation, promoting e-mobility, and advancing clean cooking and energy efficiency.

I also called on all stakeholders, public agencies, financiers and private developers, to forge concrete partnerships and investments that will accelerate inclusive growth, create jobs and safeguard our global climate commitments.
