Today, I had the privilege of witnessing the official groundbreaking of the Green Hydrogen Innovations Centre, a mega project under the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri, at Nyeri Hill Farm in Nyeri County.

The project will transform renewable energy into green hydrogen and green ammonia, with hydrogen supporting the production of green ammonia-based fertilizer, helping to reduce reliance on imported synthetic fertilizers and promote more sustainable agricultural production.

The production of medical oxygen as a byproduct will also provide a dedicated local supply for medical facilities, including Consolata Hospital Mathari, supporting patients who require respiratory assistance and critical care.

The Centre represents an exciting step towards integrating renewable energy, water, green fertilizer production, and farming to create practical solutions for sustainable development.
