Kenya remains a trailblazer in Africa’s clean energy transition, with over 80% of our electricity already drawn from renewable sources such as geothermal, hydro, wind and solar.

As we scale up efforts to achieve 100% clean energy by 2030, strategic partnerships like the one between Kenya and Italy are critical in mobilizing investment, technology and innovation.

Italy continues to be a valued partner in Kenya’s energy journey, with growing interest from Italian firms in tapping into our green energy potential, particularly in areas like geothermal development, solar mini-grids and clean hydrogen.

We have also invited Italian investors to participate in the development of 18 upcoming industrial parks across Kenya, designed to aggregate manufacturing, enable economies of scale and catalyze inclusive green growth powered by clean energy.
