Hosted by the area MP, Hon. Taitum Julius, together with my colleague PS, Mr. Patrick Kilemi (Cooperatives), I presided over the launch of the Kinisa Mariri Village Electrification Project and the Solar Street Lighting Programme in Laare Town, Igembe North Constituency.

Implemented by the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC), the project has already connected 143 households to power and installed 72 solar-powered streetlights in Laare, improving security, livelihoods and economic activity.

Through the Last Mile Electricity Programme, the government has invested KSh 2 billion in Meru County, KSh 395 million of which is in Igembe North, demonstrating our commitment to universal access to clean and reliable energy.
