Honoured to address delegates at a side event during the 7th United Nations Environment Assembly (#UNEA7) themed “Promote New-type Electrification Centered on Clean Energy: Seek Sustainable Energy Solutions for a Resilient Planet.”
I highlighted key developments in Kenya’s energy sector, with 93% of our electricity coming from renewable sources, and our efforts in advancing grid modernization, mini-grids, clean cooking solutions, expanding clean energy access, and scaling e-mobility as a key driver of decarbonization.
I commend Kenya’s rising uptake of electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, buses, and utility vehicles, guided by the National E-Mobility Policy, with our renewable energy-rich grid providing a strong foundation for true zero-emission mobility.
Kenya stands ready to collaborate, innovate, and lead toward a future powered by renewable energy in our homes, industries, and mobility systems—building an affordable, modern, and sustainable energy future.
