SOY EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

Alongside fellow national and regional leaders, hosted by the area MP Hon. David Kiplagat, we joined the residents of Soy Constituency for a Women Empowerment Forum.

The event brought together key stakeholders to engage in meaningful conversations on strengthening women’s participation in economic activities, breaking barriers to access and creating sustainable opportunities for growth and inclusive development.

In my address, I highlighted the critical role of the energy sector in empowering communities, particularly women and youth, through clean, affordable and reliable energy solutions that drive enterprise, innovation and socio-economic transformation in line with the government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

The government has committed KSh 1.9 billion to connect 23,900 beneficiaries across Uasin Gishu County to the national grid. Of this, KSh 536.7 million has been allocated to Soy Constituency alone, where 6,432 households stand to benefit.

Additionally, I underscored the importance of upholding peace and the rule of law, particularly during times of heightened national debate.

I urged Kenyans, especially the youth, not to resort to unlawful demonstrations, but instead embrace peaceful, constructive and democratic channels to voice their concerns
